Career Day 10/25/2011
Wow! It's hard to believe it's been sooooo long since I last posted. Guess I've been so busy with work. Now I've got to concentrate and be better at networking with my business. Today was career day at my son's elementary school and my husband originally signed up to go but couldn't attend as he's begun a new job and needed to be there. So I thought why not, I'll do it. I went and shared with the kids the process of embroidery, some things that a customer has to consider when ordering such as thread colors and fonts. Showed how to hoop the fabric. I also talked a little bit about how to quilt, the importance of math to know how to measure and calculate what is being done with the measurements. Shared with them how I also sew curtains, bedding, etc. and how that process is done. Not sure how much they cared, but they were certainly polite and attentive. It was fun and I'm glad I did it.  Happy New Year to you all. I hope you had a good night celebrating with your family &/or friends. Our night was great! Some dear friends of ours, Steve and Shannon came over with their kids and we spent the night laughing and telling many stories over dinner and around the laughter (and interruptions) of kids. :-) Then we rang in the New Year with our drinks and the older boys thinking they were cool with their sparkling grape juice in a wine type glass followed by small fireworks and confetti poppers. My hope for you is that you all have a happy and healthy new year filled with great things for you. Congratulations....all those who have participated over the past 12 days atleast once (and some of you more) will receive a $10 gift certificate via email in the near future (I'm taking off tomorrow to enjoy the Christmas day with my family).
